First and foremost… HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEPPERMINT!! Oh, and Merry Christmas and stuff. Well wishes, God bless us everyone, shadows of things that were, will be, and may be, etc. etc. You know how it goes. And while I don’t necessarily wish to darken or dampen the holiday spirit, I do have an update regarding K.E. or, well, I guess we can call her Lavender now. We ended up coming to an agreement. And while I wouldn’t say that everything is water under the bridge, Lavender is interested in learning how to mix drinks in a safer and more controlled manner.
Of course, neither I, Peppermint, nor Vanilla are exactly experts on the whole… mixology business. But I’ve got some general knowledge of the subject, and more importantly, we can always learn as we go! That, or we can find someone to help tutor her. Vanilla and Peppermint both sort of had mentors, so it only makes sense to find one for Lavender as well. And while I don’t think we’ll be getting our liquor license yet—we can always enjoy a few private drinks together. Except, ironically enough, Lavender and myself. [Legally, at least].
Our first drink to mix up should be a fairly simple one, a very basic Mai Tai. The layering can be a bit tricky, but as long as it goes down smoothly—what difference does it make? I’m hoping this Mai Tai will help us get ahead of our competition a bit and, at the very least, lure Mr. Perez in for a festive… tiki-kinda-Christmas. To mix this cocktail up, we just need to find Lavender’s “link” to the drink, and I have a sneaking suspicion I might already know what it is. Though… how we turn that into a drink… well, that might be a little tricky.
