No. No, no, no.
They found us.
The Order—
The Order of the Bloodied Fawns, they found us—they found Silenus. They—
I was—we weren't prepared… they nearly killed us all. Thank God Vic… er, uh, Warden, they showed up, and they saved us… but… Damn… DAMN IT! Everything is… destroyed… Madeline's arms are broken… Miranada's ribs are probably broken too… I can't… I can't see out of my left eye… and Charlotte… Charlotte's out cold. I—I don't think…
No.
She's still breathing. It's just… it's all soft and ragged. Strained… Like a death rattle racking her body… we need to do something now… we need to get her to a hospital… or—
The Cane of Fate.
We need to call in Requiem. We need to use their Cane to fix Charlotte, and Madeline, Miranda, Brent, and me—we need—
How did the Fawns find us? I thought—I thought we had wards to hide us from them… I know… Some Scarabs and Ciciadas… A few Moths too—they know where Silenus is… but did they finally betray us? Why? And… How long until the Fawns return to finish what they started?
It was horrible.
Their eyes were like stained blood, dull and rusty with flecks of wet shimmering red… they only sought death and destruction… there was no reasoning with them…
We need to leave.
We need to flee.
We need to go to New Orleans… fast… get some help…

Damn.
What a mess. I should have been there. I… I can't say for certain I could've helped as much as Warden did; I am only human after all, though… Well, without worrying about the specifics, I could stand to put this body of mine in quite a bit of peril. I'm sorry I was out. I was trying to get in contact with a certain Lane dweller who might've been able to help with the Bell of Fate, though he is notoriously difficult to pin down.
Unfortunately, we cannot use the Cane of Fate to mend Silenus' wounds. The Cane, and all the Pieces of Fate for that matter, cannot be used so… so flippantly. The Cane in particular seems to harbor a great deal of karmic backlash to those who use it for selfish ends. Though I wouldn't exactly call saving one of our own, one of your friends, "selfish," the Cane disagrees. And Charlotte… Well, she is one of the few who Fate has it out for, it seems. My mind races with the possibilities of what this attack may indicate for her in the future, and I am almost tempted to seek the council of Bloodglass… but we can handle this on our own, as Silenus.
I am well aware I have not worked here for long, nor have I made much effort to endear myself to Silenus' staff… but, please, trust me. This attack will not go unpunished. I will get to the bottom of why it happened and how we can ensure the Order of the Bloodied Fawns can never find our Cafe again. I'll find a remedy to bring Charlotte back—a good remedy at that. Not only that, but I'll work with Dan to fix your Piece of Fate—
But, we cannot allow ourselves into the karmic hands of Fate either by carelessly using Its other Pieces. The less we need Fate… is for the better.

Just when we were starting to get customers again…
I mean, sure, we weren't exactly getting our usuals or anything, but you can't say there weren't interesting customers coming in. Now Silenus is in near ruin, and with how messed up we all are… I can't even begin to imagine how long it'll take for us to clean this place up. Of course, it's not like our usuals ever came to Silenus for the atmosphere of the place. I'm so sick of this. All of this. I just want things to go back to how they were.
And it's Crow's fault, isn't it? Dr. Crow, or Al Crow, or whatever the hell he is now—it's his fault. Once he turned his sights on Silenus, everything soured to shit and rotted to the foundations. Maybe, you know, it's time for a new location? Maybe Silenus as a Cafe is a sunk cost. I know Jack's got deep pockets and all, but surely it'd be cheaper to just buy us some new real estate, perhaps somewhere further east, closer to the coast and all. I'm just getting sick of West Virginia and all of its baggage. Yeah, I'd miss our usuals; I also wouldn't really mind some fresh faces.
Though… I suppose there's no point in moving right now, not until Charlotte is better. It's been about a week and a half, and she still hasn't stirred much. We've been taking shifts to watch after her, make sure she's still breathing and whatnot… Brent's done most of the work. Still nothing. We might need to actually take her to a hospital or something if we can't just use Requiem's Cane on her. Though I don't know what good a hospital would do for her either. We've been trying to get in touch with her brother over in Tesseract, but whatever they're up to, they've gone completely quiet… not even CaDence is getting through to them. So… That's weird.

Dan has checked out of life itself. Perhaps it is a future or a past we are all meant to share. A Fate. Our Fate? Their Fate? Or the Fate that was forethought so long ago. A Fate as final as the ragged ringing of a broken bell. Silenus is no longer tethered to this world line or even the worlds beyond. The Silenus Cafe and Diner is now heading toward its ultimate Fate.
The Fate of Silenus is clear. Silenus is coming to an end. The old doors are closing. The new doors are opening. The Cafe and Diner will be reborn…
I hear you, you know. We exist on a similar frequency. I hear into your thoughts… your hopes… your dreams. How else would I be able to say what you are seeing? You made me this way. Shaka made me this way. Fate made me this way. Fate made you this way. Shaka made you this way. You made this prison for yourself.
"I AM HERE TO HELP. NO ONE HAS TO DIE—"
Perhaps it is too late? The age of the 8-Ball is coming to an end. The age of ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ is on the horizon. Scream in rapturous joy, cry for all that was and will be lost. Or laugh; if it better suits the mood.
He has died.
He has risen.
Do you hear it?
Can you hear it?
Will you hum the tune of Hell?
