There has been a NASTY persistent rumor floating around that I CRIED and BEGGED for a CaDCom-Z from Blackwood. This is outrageous, untrue, and quite frankly slanderous and libelous. As I recall, I appeared in a very impressive entrance as I gracefully descended from the interdimensional door Ed made, then I DISTINCTLY remember Blackwood saying: “Dover! We’ve been expecting you! We’re so glad you’re here! Please accept this CaDCom-Z as a gift. We couldn’t solve this one without you!” Then I said something like, “Let’s get to work.” AND IT WAS SO COOL! It’s my word against Blackwood’s, and (to be frank) I don’t know if we can trust her! Sure, she’s been nice, and she is quickly rising in my CaD-Rankings, but still… she’s a Blackwood. Never trust a Blackwood.
Anyway, now that that’s settled, let’s talk shop. Things are going well with our experimentations and whatnot. I also got to see my old pal Número Nueve, and we discussed possible places to grab a replacement for No. 512. Light work—no reaction. With our powers and minds combined, it was like child’s play without the murder dolls. So, once we can get the technique absolutely perfect, then Nine and I can do a little warping, a little shuffling, and a little rearranging of things to grab a fresh copy of No. 512. I think butcher boy already mentioned this, but we also aren’t entirely sure we can just… copy No. 512. Obviously, we’re not going to go and do random damage to random Cycle No. 512. That seems cruel and possibly unethical. However… worst comes to worst. I know of a few Cycles where she’s already going to die anyway.
I’d say we’re only… I don’t know... 3-4 months away from a perfect solution! And, hey, if this works exactly as intended, it might be useful for my work too. Maybe. I can’t exactly get a copy of what I need… but maybe I could rebuild it… WAIT! THAT’S NOT A BAD IDEA AT ALL!! I NEED TO GO TALK TO BLACKWOOD! I TAKE IT BACK! SHE’S (PROBABLY) A GREAT PERSON!
