Well, Rico’s resigned to the end of days, and I can’t blame him. Maybe because I already spent a good few months waiting for everything to end, I’m sort of past all of that now. I don’t necessarily think there is too much left we can do. Though I also don’t really want to sit around and wait anymore either. The way I see it—what’s the difference between waiting for the inevitable and getting cut down in an attempt to stop it? And it’s not like I have much left to lose, either. All it takes is one lucky shot—and we might still pull through like we always have.

I won’t do anything rash, of course. Mostly because I haven’t had any luck in tracking down Jean-Marc and the Bingo Cult. It seems like after they took Joy, they’ve all but vanished. I suppose between Umbra, Jean-Marc, Complexico, and Jack Octo, if they wanted to stay hidden, they could easily do so. Felix also has no idea where they might be hiding out these days. According to him, they’ve never had a central base of operations, opting instead to rotate around a series of familiar hideouts. Critically, according to Felix, they’ve never stayed in one place long or more than once.

I’ll keep looking, as there isn’t much else to do. I’m not sure what we can do once we find them, but, like I said earlier, we might as well go out in a full Italian roast. There is no point in worrying about what will come or what has come—let’s just stay focused on the here and now. It’s sort of nice to have one more late night with everyone. Hopefully, we get some comfort food soon to really liven it up.

Yours in a “feels like I should sign off at least one last time,”

J.L.
