Yo. Name's Mint. After the last Cafe burned down, I thought I'd never have another chance at slinging coffee. Sure, I probably could've worked for an adjacent cafe. They would've gotten back to me eventually. But even if those stiffs at the Society or those kooks at the Coven bothered to check out my 'sumé, I probably would've turned them down. Real talk—it's not coffee if isn't from the Cafe and Diner. That's a bit of 'cation—a bit of truth for ya.
Yeah, yeah, it's true. All the rumors you've heard, all of them are true. I was lined up to be Employee No. 1119. Certain of it. There were multiple occasions when the old Cafe needed my special 'tise—they would've been absolutely lost without me. And I was this close to being a full-time employee. Then… ya know. Boom. Which… on the one hand… lucky I didn't die with them. Actually, that's what I've been up to these past few years. I've been trying to dig into the big million-dollar question: who lit that damn match? I've got a few theories, a few' lations and 'nations cooking up. Though… it's probably neither here nor there, seeing as we're officially back in business, baby!
'Scus made the right choice in hiring me, that's for sure. No one knows this business better than I do. No one can quite see the meaning hidden in plain sight like I can. But ya know, it's not my whole life or anything like that. No, no, I've got other hobbies too—I love me a bit of 'lology. I suppose it's probably 'cause that's just another type of puzzle, isn't it? I've actually spent quite a bit of time thinking about what my special trivia theme would be for the Cafe and Diner, and as far as I know, 'lology is a new one.
