But it won't actually help our current situation. The Bayou Teche is on a rampage because in all of our Vile and Wicked business someone did end up dead and the Teche feels cheated. It's beyond reason at this point. Even if we accept that we killed the Wicked, though I stand by what we did was grant his stupid ass mercy, even if—wasn't the Wicked already mostly dead to begin with? How is this—

I don't care. I'm not going to try and get into the head of some Death-averse Death Wyrm. There's no logic to this. It's a tantrum that has been building up beneath its scales for thousands of eons, waiting to burst out. The thing is mindless, as far as I'm concerned. Just another big beastie for the Cafe and Diner to serve. Of course, with a customer this large, we're hardly alone—if the Teche wasn't enough to deal with we've also got swarms of suits, HOTELs and INDIAs hunting it… and us.

Well. Alright. Clearly Fate still has a plan for us, and fighting against it only seems to make things worse. Felix and the rest of Requiem see it as a karmic balance tied to the Cane of Fate. Cause and effect; a good deed paradoxically brings ill, and an ill deed brings good. I suspect it is more complicated than that. A good deed brings ill, when the deed was deemed to bring ill by Fate. As much as we would like to believe Fate is truly dead, the Pieces of Its Corpse are as much of an Eidolon as the Wicked was; though, destroying the Pieces of Fate is out of the question for now.
As for Requiem… Ichabod has fully recovered, thanks in great part to Ms. Sandiego's hostile takeover of her sibling's estate. This naturally implies that Ichabod is now fully in Ms. Sandiego's debt. Of course, he isn't compelled to act against us, not directly, but she now holds his life in her hands. On the bright side, Ichabod should now be able to work in terms of both Xanthic and Ultramarine. On the matter of Sacred Flames, Elizabeth is… fine. Stressed, I would imagine, but otherwise fine. And Ms. Barre is… Well, that's still unclear, but for the moment she is no longer destroying the coast.
And lastly, there is the singer and harbinger of Ms. Sandiego: Nico "Nickels" Costigan. He is no longer bound to gold or blue, no longer particularly special, no longer mute… He just, is. A man once more. He'll live, he'll die, hopefully in a less gruesome way than his originally Fated death. He has decided to travel a bit, see the new world with his old companions, but I imagine he'll still keep in touch. Once you've had a sip of the Cafe and Diner's coffee, it can be awfully hard to stay away.
