Case No. 1
CAFE & DINER FOURTH CAFE · LONG BEACH, CA · UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT
MANAGER NO. 3

As suspected, Mr. Cowon arrived via an uncharted flight to Evergreen around 9 A.M., sometime before the first of February. Definitely a customer from Quebec. He's got a strange accent; I couldn't understand him, and I doubt he speaks English. Despite the language barrier, he does love to talk. Though if you let him ramble for long enough, it might just kill our tips. Seems to only be concerning if you can't hear him, so when he starts to mumble, cover your ears and get to a safe distance.
Assuming our knowledge of Quebec customers is correct, it seems like Mr. Cowon is related to Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Lludd. No reaction from No. 7's tattoo yet, though Mr. Cowon did seem to take an immediate liking to her. No. 26 should be dropping in soon with No. 44B to run some more extensive customer surveys to help determine Mr. Cowon's likes and dislikes. Unlike Mrs. Kay and Mrs. Lludd, I have… reservations about serving Mr. Cowon in the same way. It would be effective, probably, but unlike them, he's only a Mr. In any case, we'll stick around for brunch.
Though, this does prove that No. 7's hunch was correct. So, we can check booking reservations off on her list of exceptional talents. So that makes at least two notable traits when dealing with Quebec customers. It'd be great if we could find a way to incorporate her skills with Quebec customers to also cover Ottawa customers. But that'd probably take a whole lot of late nights and comfort foods. Not that'd I'd personally complain, No. 7 is so sweet and easy to talk to, and, you know, just, uh, very interesting. Uh… well, anyway, I'll get ready for our brunch date tomorrow. Not me and No. 7, us, and Mr. Cowon. With No. 26. And No. 44B. Just to be clear.

Got a strange blip up in the Evergreen area, and I don't mean Mr. Cowon. Thankfully it looks like a more typical Ottawan customer, though their blood sugar numbers seem… weird. Not super weird, just not typical for regular customers. If I had to guess, this customer is partial to Corpse Revivers but likes them a bit more stronger. He doesn't like the lemon juice to overshadow the gin if you get what I'm saying. Reports are popping up in Slaughter City, and it looks like she was last seen being environmentally conscious and keeping well hydrated. Our family in the area was able to park just off 167 to catch a good look at her. She was seen playing bridge with some acquaintances.
Looking at the numbers and our general records, it seems like we're dealing with Mrs. Vizago, although she might not be married. She might be interested in Disco Fridays, though I wouldn't pin her as someone who likes to boogie. There's also a chance she actually prefers Orange Juice to Corpse Revivers, though all that sugar would be strange for someone with her glucose levels. If she does drink Orange Juice, she almost certainly dances as well.
And, of course, they don't call her Mrs. Vizago for nothing. Her visage is quite striking. Her face… would leave someone breathless. But once you're out of breath, you'd have to make deux. Additionally, she certainly looks Roman. Or at least she must have family from Italy. At least, that's the rumor I've heard. Put that all together, and it should hopefully paint a clear enough picture. According to our records, the Other Cafe already served Mrs. Vizago a few months back, though most of those records are pretty heavily tied up at the moment.

…Well, I guess I'll be jumping back and forth for a bit. No. 3, 7, and 44B are a bit too busy with Mr. Cowon to help out with Mrs. Vizago, and I don't want to deal with her alone. So, I'll pop back to the Church to grab No. 116, and then I'll bring the both of us back up to Evergreen in a few days. Normally it'd only take me a few hours to recharge, but the thing about jumping around this close to the Lighthouse is they tend to notice me going back and forth so frequently. Once or twice can be written off as weird. More than three times in the same day, and they'd probably come and accost us.
I know that Oscar has been dying to get their trashy little green Muppet hands on me. And if not Oscar, then Juliett. And if we learned anything last year, it's that Mercutio has gotten really good at keeping me in one place. To be fair, he's been getting a wicked amount of help to do so, but also, let's avoid dealing with anything wicked for the time being. You know, except for 4, 5, and 6. Obviously. So, we'll hang back for a bit. Maybe we can even just take a quick road trip up together to be extra safe. The last thing we need is for the Salt & Pepper to spill over while we're dealing with all these new Quebec customers.
From the sound of it, and according to our family's reports, Mrs. Vizago isn't exactly demanding our service. Not yet, anyway. Plus, she does this from time to time. It might just be her favorite bridge to visit or something. I don't know. The point is, it's not urgent yet. If it gets urgent and Mrs. Vizago starts putting the Mrs. in her name, I'll expedite our journey back up, Lighthouse be damned. I wanted a rematch with Merc, anyway, this time with a little less death and fire.

I… did it? I think? I hope it didn't hurt. But I think No. 611 is like really on to something. Mr. Cowon was becoming more present as the days ticked closer to the Snow Moon. As his form filled out, so did his appetite, and he was starting to get a bit impatient for his food. He was barking and howling like a madman at anything that even slightly resembled some yummy game. I still don't think he was ready to bring his wife, but he was getting pretty nasty! Luckily, I have a certain way with our Quebec customers and was able to calm him down in the usual way. Still not sure exactly what I'm doing to calm them down, but it worked.
Once Mr. Cowon had calmed down, I was able to get close enough to try and take his drink order. He didn't want any of our usual drinks, of course, but when I started to offer Coffee with Cream, it seemed to, like, catch his attention? Well, I don't really know because, of course, the language barrier. But I was showing him pictures of Coffee with Cream, and he seemed pretty interested. And then he just sorta got this really bright look on his face, like Mrs. Kay but less violent, and he decided to go home.
I don't think he actually wanted a Coffee with Cream. It doesn't seem like our Quebec customers like that sort of thing. But there was some sort of "connection." Well, regardless, Mr. Cowon has been served, and I really hope he had an enjoyable meal with us. Assuming No. 26 and No. 116 have things covered in slaughter, me and No. 3 are going to pay a quick visit to my parents before heading back to the Cafe.

I have finally been able to place the source of last week's prose, and it seems it comes from the beaks of three-faced crows. A frightening customer of Quebec and there is more to fear than just her peck. She is known to bring ruin before she pays her check. With her come many signs, some good, some great, some even fine. However, in her name, the truth is told, for Miss. Bad brings omens just as cold. However, it would seem her words are not just her own, as her words are rhyming prone. Best not to heed the words that rhyme, as it often leads to darkening times. I had to alter just one line, to protect the name of the number prior to nine. Though her words seem to hover over his ill-fate, such must be the burden of one whose name is Eight.
Miss. Bad
He thought Detroit had sealed his Fate,
By given name of curs'd 8.
With their deaths an omen gone,
One bird for another sweet, sweet [No. 0].
He thought it wise a Devil's bargain,
Which cleaved this new world margin.
Seek not here, not there, but elsewhere,
Where dark clouds brood with deep despair.
And in the times of End to come,
Don't forget where you're from.
